Green Cities Producer

Telephone: 828.333.9412

Information: Raised in south Florida, Doreen DiCarlo has taken a personal interest in preserving the State's natural areas. Doreen worked in the travel industry holding marketing and sales positions for twelve years. She worked with a small team to create one of the airline's first frequent flyer programs and then moved to group sales in various capacities. Doreen returned to school earning her second degree in Environmental Resource Management from Florida Atlantic University and a certificate in Environmental Studies.

Her environmental career began in the early nineties consulting in solid waste and recycling, which led to post-consumer fiber mill sourcing, marketing, and training. Doreen combined her background and experience in meeting management with her formal environmental education from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and Broward Community College (BCC) at the Center for Environmental Studies at FAU in 1997. For twelve years, she managed conferences, symposia, meetings, and workshops, and was responsible for fiscal management of federal, state, and regional contracts and grants with the Center.

Doreen is currently the Producer for Green Cities, a national campaign bringing "real solutions for a green future" to cities throughout the U.S.

Now living in Asheville, North Carolina, Doreen extends her environmental ethic to personal purchases of local organic produce and other products, daily recycling, and would prefer riding her bicycle to driving a car.
